Toronto

This past weekend we packed up and headed to Toronto to meet up with some friends.  Poppy had a blast catching up with her Korean buddies and Marc and I had fun catching up with our grown up friends.  Unfortunately, we decided not to bring Sam with us because we knew that we would be on the go non-stop and Sammy doesn't do so well when he doesn't get to take his naps every day.  (next time Sam, I promise!)

We did some research and found a bunch of kid-friendly parts of TO that were new to us.  This funky boardwalk is called the Simcoe Wavedeck.  It was even cooler in person.  Poppy loved running up and down the waves...
You couldn't have asked for more perfect weather - sunny and warm every day!

{during one of our quick stops at the hotel for a "rest" Poppy decided to put her ratty flashlights on her toes}

We found this cool wavy bench on a playground...

My pictures don't even do our weekend justice.  We really had such a great time exploring the city with friends and even meeting new friends for the first time.  We're already thinking that this should be an annual event - can't wait til next year!

Happy Halloween!

Poppy wasn't really that into pumpkin carving this year, but Marc still was!

On Saturday we had some friends over and we all walked down to Elmwood, where all of the neighborhood shops were having trick-or-treating.  It was a fun afternoon spent with friends and it was so nice to be able to dress up in everyone's costume during the day.

Then on Halloween we went to Scott and Jessica's to see all of the cousins in their costume.  And this is where Sam finally made his debut as one of Snow White's dwarfs.

And the Louie the Lorax was spotted "speaking for the trees".

Trick-or-treating was a huge hit this year, even though it was so cold that we only made it to a handful of houses.  After each house, Poppy would proudly exclaim that when she gets home she is going to eat up all of her candy!

As soon as we walked in the door, she dumped her loot and lined it all up like this.  I remember doing the same thing when I was little, getting ready for the big candy trade with my brothers.

Luckily we were able to talk her out of eating everything that night, and now the rest of her candy is working well as bribes to get her to continue to nap each day!

We have been crazy busy around here lately.  Here are a few random pics so you can see what we've been up to...

Here's a little peek into our playdate Mondays.  We get together every Monday morning with Tony and Natalie, two of my co-workers that are also taking some time off of work to be home with their kids right now.  Such a fun way to start our week!

Yes, that is her baby doll stroller that Sam is strapped into.  (don't worry, Marc was close by to make sure that no infants were injured during this "walk")

It is so sweet to see how much these two truly love each other.  Anytime Sam hears Poppy's voice, he starts looking around and moving his head so that he can see her (and he doesn't do that for mine or Marc's voice).  And if Sam starts crying while we are in the car, we just have to ask Poppy to sing to him and he almost always stops crying immediately.

Poppy's epic train bridge.  These train tracks take over our entire house.

First of all, do you see any similarities between these two?  Clones.  Second of all, Sam is holding the best invention ever.  That is a stuffed animal glued to his pacifier and it basically just helps to keep it in his mouth (which is what I used to have to do myself all.day.long.).

Walking to "ballerina school".  We switched to a new dance studio this year and I just love the fact that it's literally a stone's throw away from our house.  And how cute is her backpack?

Can you even believe how big Sam is getting?!

Poppy's newest obsession is the Mary Poppins movie, and when she tried this outfit on and we told her she looks like Mary Poppins,  she thought it was hysterical.  I'm taking her to see the Mary Poppins musical next week and I can't wait to see her reaction.

Poppy and I stopped by Marc's office for a visit a few weeks ago.  Marc doesn't typically work in his office, so Poppy has never been there before.  She was beyond excited to be able to sit at his desk and play with his computer and then when Marc showed her the big conference room with a huge whiteboard, I thought she was going to lose it.  Here is a video of her playing "teacher"...
