We're off to the beach again for more fun in the sun!

Last night, I ran my second 5k!!!  Woo-hoo!  It was so much more fun than the one that I ran a few weeks ago.  Already looking forward to our next one in a few weeks!

Jen and I started the couch to 5k program at about the same time a few months ago.  So proud of us that we finished it!

Sam's 1st birthday party!

We celebrated Sam's 1st birthday while we were at the beach.  I remembered that the cottage we always rent has a nautical theme with the decor, so I decided to go with it.  It was a little stressful planning a party for when we were away from home, but it turned out so great and looking back, I'm so glad we did.  Sam loves being at the beach and I think he loved having his party there too.

{A week before the party, I asked Marc if he could make a paper sailboat to put on top of Sam's cake.  He spent hours making a paper mache/ fabric keepsake boat for him instead.  Didn't it turn out cute?}

{after presents, we all headed down to the beach to light paper lanterns (I may or may not have gotten that idea from Tangled) but it was waaay too windy to light them that night.}

{he was such a mess by the end of the night, and the cottage only has a stand-up shower, so I had the brilliant idea to give him a bath in the cooler.  He loved it!  He stayed in there forever and did not want to get out!}

Crystal Beach (part 1)

Finally!  For the first time in 3 weeks I am able to upload pics!  I am so behind that I don't even know where to begin!  I guess I'll start with our week at the beach.  Here are a few of the highlights...

And this is what I found in Poppy's room on our last day.  It was dinner time and she skipped her nap to play at the beach all day...then she told me she was going to listen to an audiobook on her ipod...zzzzzz.

We had a perfect week at the cottage.  We always make the best memories while we're at the beach.  Looking forward to going back for another week at the end of the month!  I have a ton more pics, including Sam's beach birthday party.  Stay tuned!

I'm still here!  We came home from the beach this past weekend and we've been super busy ever since we walked in the door.  I ran my first 5k last weekend!  I've been sucked into a ton of really good books lately!  We're going blueberry picking bright and early tomorrow morning!  See?  Busy!

I have tons of pics to share, but we are still in the middle of the biggest hard drive backup in the history of the world.  I'm in the process of burning every picture and video to dvd before Marc backs them all up to our new external hd.  And it's taking forever!  Tons of pics to post soon!
