busy day

If looks could kill...

I was trying to get a picture of these super cute pj's, but someone did not want to cooperate...

...........................

We had our first water babies swim class this morning.  It was at one of the schools we went to look at last week and while we were there we saw the pool area and Poppy seemed interested, but "Only if mommy and daddy and Poppy can hold hands in the pool."  The maternity bathing suit I ordered didn't come in yet, so I explained that I couldn't go in the water to hold her hand, but daddy could and I would take pictures on the sidelines.  As you can see from the (blurry) pictures, she loved being in the water...

And then as soon as she woke up from her nap it was off to her friend Brendan's Elmo themed birthday party.  She's been talking about this party for weeks, carrying the invitation around the house every chance she got.

She said her favorite part of the party was the cupcakes, but I think it was this little car that we couldn't tear her away from...

And in baby name news, Poppy has changed her name to "Deisel Engine Baby".  As far as us, we've got nothing for boy names.  I'd love to hear any ideas!!!

Oh, and I just want to share this funny story - tonight I was trying on my new shipment of maternity clothes that I got in the mail and Marc and Poppy were playing around on our bed.  One of Poppy's favorite books lately is "Alligator Baby" by Robert Munsch - and her favorite part is when the mom holds her belly and says "A BABY! A BABY! I'M HAVING A BABY!".  So Poppy lays down on my part of the bed, pretends to put my bra on and says, "Look, I'm mommy.  A baby! A baby! I'm having a baby!" and then proceeds to lift her shirt up to show us her belly.  Oh, this girl cracks me up.

Oh Poppy - you are quite the character! From refusing pix in your PJs to pretending you're mommy. Too funny.
I like how your maternity swimsuit *conveniently* didn't arrive in time for the pool ;)

I will send you my old list of boy names. Maybe something will be of interest. I LOVE Poppy's name for the baby - Diesel Engine Baby though.
Swim lessons are so great. Colin loved the pool, more so because it was one-on-one time with Dad.

Oh my gosh... those first two pictures are fabulous! That's the exact expression we caught on film in Chicago when she first met Spencer... ;-)

Have you heard of the Baby Naming Wizard book?! We used it when we were struggling to find a name for Spencer. Love it. A very different approach, but perfect for us. And it gives sibling names too! (Of course, I just looked up Poppy and it's not in there...) Let me know if you want to borrow mine, I can drop it in the mail!

And the Elmo party looks like it went over much better than our Elmo party did. Spencer is *not* a fan of "real life" Elmo apparently...

You know what I think that you should name the little guy!

Swimming looks like it went GREAT!!! Summer should be great!

PS Love Poppy's hair in the first few pics :)

What an adorable story! Make sure you keep that one for her teenage years ;)
