Baby mama drama

Poppy has suddenly turned into a little baby mama.  All weekend she has been dragging poor little "baby" around, making sure she is fed, burped, diapered, nose is wiped, and is quiet.  It's so cute to see how nurturing she can be.

Another things she's been doing all weekend is spreading out a blanket on the floor and setting up books and toys for herself and then saying "I'm at the beach!"

.........................

So I had one of the most traumatic experiences of my life the other day.  I had off on Friday, so my mom and I took Poppy to the Burchfield Art Center.  Poppy and I have been there a bunch of times before and she's always super good about staying by my side and letting me know when she's had enough and is ready to go.  We were there about 10 minutes when we noticed this HUGE, LOOOOOOONG table filled with white handmade ceramic vases all closely arranged.  It was beautiful.  There were hundreds of vases on it, if not thousands.  Just as we were getting ready to leave the exhibit, I decided to try to take a picture of Poppy standing in front of said piece of artwork.  And as I'm playing with the settings on my camera I can hear Poppy telling my mom that she wants her to be in the picture as well and then all of a sudden, CRASH.  Poppy inadvertently touched one of the vases as she was pulling my mom's hand and the vase crashed into another vase and another and another.  DEAR GOD, I (along with ever other patron in the museum that stopped and held their breath along with me) was sure that all of the vases were going to come crashing down in a domino affect, but luckily, it stopped after 3 or 4.  And they didn't even break, they just tipped over onto each other.  And as everyone sighed a huge breath of relief, Poppy goes "Uh oh mama, big mess!!!"  I have literally been shaking for days.  Can you even imagine that happening?!?!  It was awful.  We ran around looking for a security guard, who we never did end up finding, but by the time we got to the 2nd floor and looked down onto the exhibit, we could see that it had been fixed already.  We left shortly thereafter and I don't think we'll be going back anytime soon.  Here's a picture of the exhibit from the 2nd floor.  I can't even describe how long that table is - like probably as long as the length of my house.  I'm getting a headache just thinking about the whole thing.

Just look at that face.  How could you ever be mad at that little stinker, even if she did almost ruin the biggest piece of artwork I've ever seen...

oh my gosh I would have died! Thank goodness they didn't all fall and break! Probably would have scared the heck out of poor Poppy.

Love her with her baby.

I stopped breathing until I heard it was all OK... *then* I started hysterically laughing. [sorry] Wow. Now, had she done it intentionally, Spencer may have fallen in love. I have yet to disclose the Target incident we had a couple of weeks ago involving one rack of christmas ornaments and my son. I bet you can figure it out though. [and yes he was confined.]

Oh. My. God.

I would have died and I almost about died reading the post. No visits to that museum any time soon I suspect (or anywhere else there is objects on display).
