Adoption video

I just finished watching a video about a couple's Vietnamese adoption on the Hallmark channel. My eyes are still filled with tears. Click here if you would like to watch the video.

Courtney is still in the hospital and the contractions seem to have stopped for now. We're keeping our fingers crossed that she'll be there for a while. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers.

Prayer request

Yesterday afternoon my SIL Courtney began having contractions and is now in the labor and delivery area of the hospital. This should be an exciting time, but unfortunately it is way too early for this baby to come into the world. She is only at 24 weeks and we really need this baby to stay inside for a few more weeks to grow. Please say a prayer that the contractions stop and she can hold off from having this baby for a little while.

More quilt squares

I am loving all of the quilt squares I am getting! This quilt is going to be so much cooler than I expected. I'm getting backed up with trying to scan them in, so don't worry if you've mailed yours to me and I haven't posted it yet, I'll try to do one every couple of days. The wishes from the kids are cracking me up. These 2 are from Marc's cousin and her son. Her son was on a mission to find the softest fabric in the store because it was very important that Poppy's quilt is soft!


In other news, we received an interesting update from our agency yesterday. The most exciting part of it is that they expect to see a few referrals in December, which means we are moving on up in line! Yippee!!

My Shower

It's official, I have the best family ever. My mom, Courtney and Jessica have been working for weeks on all of the details of my shower. I couldn't wait to see what all of their planning was about and today everything finally came together.



Courtney made the fabric accents for the middle of the tables. And the favors were little Asian-inspired bowls filled with pink m&m's with chopsticks on top. Too cute!





The hanging paper lanterns were my favorite part. I'm not sure if you can tell from the picture, but there are paper butterflies attached to the lanterns too. I brought a few of them home to hopefully hang in the nursery.

It means so much to me that my family wanted everything to be perfect for Poppy's shower, and it was! Absolutely perfect.
